Board Members

Karen Riccio, O. D. - 2012 Board President
Dr. Riccio graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1982. She practiced at the Cincinnati Eye Institute for 10 years. While at the Cincinnati Eye Institute, she was involved in emergency eye care, pediatric eye care, medical glaucoma care, and peri-operative cataract surgery care. Upon moving back to Columbus, Dr. Riccio was the optometric director of a laser vision correction center. In 1997 she joined the Eye Designs team. Dr. Riccio is actively involved in The American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association and the Central Ohio Optometric Association. She has also served as a past president of the Ohio Optometric Association.

Stanley Warn, O. D. - 2012 Board Secretary

Dr. Warn graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in 1981. He currently practices at two locations affiliated with Pearle Vision in the Cleveland area. Dr. Warn served as a board member of TLC (The Laser Center) and served as Clinical Co-Director of VisionMed Ohio, an affiliate of Partner Provider Health. Dr. Warn currently serves as a board member of the Cleveland Optometric Association. Dr. Warn is married to Doreen and they have five children and two grandchildren. His oldest daughter, Anita is practicing optometry in the Cleveland are. His oldest son, Jason is a graduate of the Ohio State College of Dentistry and also practices in the Cleveland area.

Dennis Roark, O. D.

Dr. Roark graduated from the Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1970 and served as a Clinical Instructor there for one year. He then served for two years as a Captain (Optometry Officer) in the U.S. Army. Dr. Roark has been in private practice in Springfield, Ohio for the past 38 years. He has been active in the profession of optometry having served as president of the Ohio Optometric Association. He is currently in his ninth year as a member of the State Board of Optometry. Dr. Roark and his wife are very involved in the community and their church. They have four children and four grandsons.

Thomas Bobst, O. D.

Dr. Bobst graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1982. He practiced in North Olmsted for five years before opening his private practice, Vision Source. Vision Source is a primary care practice, but Dr. Bobst's interests include contact lenses, glaucoma, and dry eye. He has been a consultant and performed research for several contact lens and pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Bobst is actively involved in the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and the Cleveland Optometric Association. He served as the 2009 president of the Ohio Optometric Association and won the OOA Key Optometrist of the Year award in 2010.

Jeffrey Fogt, O. D.

Dr. Fogt graduated from the Ohio State College of Optometry in 1989. He was a four-year member of the Ohio State University Marching Band. Dr. Fogt has practiced optometry in Defiance, Ohio for the past 23 years and owns Professional Vision Services. He has a special interest in specialty contact lens fitting, does contact lens investigational studies for contact manufacturers, has helped develop contact lens designs, and has lectured to other Optometrists. Dr. Fogt is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association and the past president of the Toledo Area Optometric Association. Dr. Fogt resides in Defiance with his wife Sara and two children, Clay and Sydney.

Patricia Scharf

Ms. Scharf is a graduate of the University of Toledo and a retired Educator. She was a High School Principal in Toledo Public Schools for fifteen years. Previously she was an Assistant Principal of Instruction, Guidance Counselor and Business and English Teacher. Mrs. Scharf has served as president of the UT Alumni Association, UT Golden Alumni, The Bethany House Board, Kiwanis Club of Toledo and is the current President of The Blair Museum of Lithophanes Board. At UT she is the recipient of the annual Alumni Blue T and College of Education Distinguished Alumnae awards. She is the mother of four children and has eight grandchildren.
